Generation 1, Chapter 1


Meet Jewel Strohm. Left on the doorsteps of an orphanage when she was still an infant, she knows nothing about her family or where she comes from. When she reached adulthood, the government gave her 20,000 Simoleons and sent her on her way. Growing up owning nothing of her own, not even her clothes, it's not surprising Jewel is a Fortune Sim.

Jewel wasn't able to afford much, but she bought with an eye to the future. She purchased a huge tract of land, hoping future generations would add to the small home she planned to build. She purchased the essentials and waited for the day she could buy more.

Her first day in Veronaville, Jewel spent some time enjoying the quiet and freedom to simply lose herself in a good book. She was definitely enjoying being out of the orphanage!

One of the first people she met was the paperboy (who's name I have foolishly forgotten!). Jewel figured the best person to get the gossip from was the kid who delivers the news, so she asked him about the sirens she'd heard earlier in the day.

"Oh, yeah. We have problems with burglars in these parts, ma'am," he told her. She looked around at her few meager possions sitting out in the open.

"Do you think I should invest in a safe?" Jewel asked. "Naw, just get some walls and a burglar alarm and you should be okay," the paperboy said. What he didn't add was that her stuff was so low end, he doubted anyone would be desperate enough to want to take any of it. Jewel checked her bank account, but knew she wouldn't be able to afford anything for a while.
